Born in NYC and left when I was 25 (1977). Lived in Colorado (8,000 ft.) for 35 years .
Been in NH since 8/12. I don't want to recreate NYC, AZ, or CO. I like New England and NH in particular.
So for most of my life I have taken a dump every day at a higher altitude than the top of Mt. Washington.
Who's the flatlander?

25 years in NYC would be very hard to offset. You would need two to three years of genuine rural living for each year spent in NYC to offset the NYC effect. I vote flatlander.
Flatlander is a state of mind, a city person living at 10,000 feet could be considered a flatlander to a country person. A Swamp Yankee in N.H.does not have to be living in a swamp..
