Hello!
My husband and I are a bi-racial couple looking to move to a nice city to raise our children. We were thinking about Plymouth, but I have a few questions:

To your knowledge, how would a bi-racial couple fit in NH, specifically Plymouth? Any prominent racism issues going on?

How is the diversity there?

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

your all set where ever you go in NH as long as you work for a living we welcome all but strong liberals at the present time nhppl are rebelling aginst mass wholes but by racial couple are fine lol skin color don't matter here as long as your not gay then you would be better of in mass or VT. nh has a ways to go on gays but we really don't care where happy as we stand. and the gay rights ppl dont push the issues here as they know they will loose

Plymouth is a colledge town, in fact my better half will most likely be working at the university there, as soon as this job bidding process is over.
In all the years I lived in NH, racism never seemed to be prevalent at all, you always have a couple of idiots anywhere you go, but for the most part, as long as you are a productive citizen, skin color don't mean squat.

That is very good to hear. I just want what every other good person wants; to live a good life unmolested, contribute positively to my community, raise a conscientious and happy family, and leave this world a little bit better. Sappy, I know. I also believe in being as self-sufficient as possible--it makes you feel good!

Race usually isn't a problem near cities or in towns that have educated people. Some rural areas may be a problem (especially older folks). A college town like Plymouth usually has a lot of diversity so I wouldn't think you'd have any trouble there. For the most part it's not a problem, but there are ignorant idiots everywhere.

The only "diversity" in NH is the areas in Manchester rife with crime and violence. Quite sad. 30 years ago we had none of this.

Now you see in the paper every other day about a shooting or stabbing and some Spanish or "urban" surname.

After reading the comment above about Spanish surnames, it makes me wonder if I would be accepted in NH. I'm not an illegal but will people assume I am because I'm Hispanic? My son is white as snow, he takes after his dad. My daughter takes after me, though.
