Keene NH Takes on Global Warming Challenge
Very interesting article in the Boston Sunday Globe about Keene's efforts to reduce their impact on global warming.

well there's no chance of me turning my engine off when it's freezing and have kids in the car, does this mean everytime we are stuck in traffic we should turn our engines off
at the moment it should be called global freezing after this short summer and all this ice, snow, and cold

when the school buses come to pick up the kindergarten kids at 11AM - they sit underneath my classroom window waiting and running for 20 minutes expelling diesel fumes that infiltrate the classroom.
I would be happy to see them shut off their motors while they wait.
We are currently in the process of switching from diesel fuel to vegetable oil for all the town trucks and buses. That's a smell that is sooooo bad. I'm not sure which is worse.

"poor little rugrats would freeze then"
the poor little rugrats don't get on the bus until 11:30. there is no need for the bus to sit idling for half an hour exhausting diesel fumes into the classrooms
"have you ever smelt the grease from a chinese takeaway"
ahhhhhh...you DO understand.

it;s the only thing I understand
my wife thinks it smells good(yuk) she hates the country smell I love that country smell nothing like a smell of manure to get rhe day going(EEK)
you'll ask me what has this to do with so called global warming thing
well did you know that cow manure and gas is responsible for 2% of pollution into the air
true fact that is
so I say start with banning cows passing gas

It was called climate change the last time I checked, but hey, if they want to do something God bless 'em. How much of an impact will it have? Probably almost none.
The problem lies in the hands of the suppliers and demanders.

We have something similar here in Lawrenceville, NJ. There's a group called "sustainable lawrence". Basically, it's a bunch of "high up" people trying to use global warming and environmentalism to further their own social causes and they're using tax dollars to do it.
