when i lived in alabama i would hibernate for the 8 months of summer. it was just too hot to enjoy being outsite (unless, of course, i was at a football game).
here, i don't notice fewer people being outside. i still see joggers out everyday, but they're wearing more clothes.

Think of this:

The Patriots are playing football still. The stadium is packed everytime. If the Red Sox were playing, Fenway would be packed too!! We NE'ers are a hardy bunch. Not much hibernating here. I was a playoff game at Gillette a few years ago and it was 0 deg at kick off. That didn't stop 64,000 fans from showing up!! Yeah, sometimes it gets a little depressing due to the short days, and long cold nights. But a nice fire, a hot toddy and a warm body is all I need!!

BTW, check out the amount of babys born in Sept, Oct, and Nov. There is plenty to do in the winter!!

I'm kinda bummed out that we supposed to have this awful heat wave moving in this week. We had such a great December with a lot of great snow. Hopefully this is just a quick January thaw and then we can resume winter again. I say - let it snow!
I look forward to snow days. Skip work, load the kids up and head out skiing, sledding, snow shoeing. So much to do. After a hard day of play in the crisp cold air and snow, you feed the kids, give them a mug of hot chocolate and watch them fall fast asleep!
