Gilford is right near a huge beautiful lake and would be a great place to work and have fun in the summer with many people your age. Less people around in the winter and spring. All seasons are great, if you like beautiful fall folliage winter ice fishing and ice sailing etc. It is not very far from many ski areas, it's not the Alps but very challenging conditions. There are no LARGE cities nearby if you are into a very big bar/clubbing thing, but I think you would find enough to keep you amused. And for time away, there's always Montreal and Boston. It is almost equal distance between the two.

If you ski, the town has its' own ski area - Gunstock. The city of Laconia is close by and has many restaurants, bars, etc.....

Default Gilford nh

Manchester Nh is the closest big city about 45 minutes away. Concord ,the state capital is 30 minutes.BOSTON, is about 2 hours and well worth the drive! Boston Redsoxs (greatest b-ball team in history ,sorry Yankees fans),Faniuel Hall Marketplace, the wharf, seafood etc etc.... You will do fine in Gilford. Very beautiful scenery, Lake Winnipesaukee,go for a cruise on the Mt. Washington, ski Gunstock Mt.,hike, swim.... Expensive to buy a home, or raise a family, so you are in luck as only passing thru..... ikuout

Gilford is a nice place to start if you can afford to live there.
