Cant help with schools other than consider Monroe, NH (just south of Littleton) so your child can go to St. Johnsbury Academy for free. It's the top school in Vermont and one of the top in New England. www.stjohnsburyacademy.org
Keep in mind that N. Conway is a resort community and gets very, very, busy. You'll get to learn the ways around the traffic though.
Crime? Pretty much non-existant. You get the occassional convenience store robbery and vandalism, but thats about it.
Can't help with taxes.
Are you going to be looking for work?

Hi, We relocated from NYS to Littleton this past April and as far as I know, the only major crime was a robbery at a local credit union where the guy handed a note to a teller, no weapon was displayed and the guy was caught. We rarely see or hear a police car with lights flashing and siren wailing. As for taxes, if you're used to NYS taxes, you should be pleasantly surprised the the taxes here, at least in Littleton <G>. I can't tell you about the schools as we have no children in school.....maybe if you "google" schools in Littleton and North Conway you could get some information? Happy hunting! <g>

Id say north conway Littleton is in political tormoil right now they have a group of ACLU want to bes trying to force the town to do things their way the ppl didn't vote for it so now they are sueing the town the town manager and anyone else who opposes them. the cheif of police has resigned. and ppl are just screwed there. If the few ppl who are acting like the aclu would just get charged with treason like the real ACLU should be LIttleton would be a much nicer place. Then we could just put them in Cuba and let littleton citizens make up their own minds. As for schools just google NH SAU's it will give you all SAU districts and the townsthat are part of them. the best school I know of in NH is philps exeter acadamy its rated in the top 10 in the nation not just new england. But if you are set on the north country monroe does go to St. J acadamy and it is a nice town. and St. J is a decent private school they just have alot of local kids there so it really isn't a private top notch school its just a public school with a private name lol it is good though.

nhnut (I can't remember you name LOL) - St. Johnsbury Academy is indeed a private school. They accept a lot of day students. About 700 day students and 300 boarding students.

Yes vter I took your advice and looked the acadamey up. When we visit in Feb.
we are going to look into Monroe and look at the academy. But I do like the
town of Littleton with the shops and the convinence of walking to a store.

Either one
I would move to either one if we could find a job in our field over there...Will most likely move to Southern NH...
Up North, there is a much slower pace of life and people are actually friendly compared to freaking Long Island!!
