She misses her family in N.H.--What's a hubby to do?
Ok. Several of you have seen me on here, and other forums before talking about moving with my wife back to NH where she is from. We live in GA now and just had a new baby girl, and that seems to have been the straw that broke the camels back. She has had it and she misses her family.....she is from Nashua, but housing their is so damned expensive that I dunno how anyone makes it. However.....her family has been saying they have seen some homes in more rural areas for less than 100k! So here we go again analyzing this thing to death and wondering if I could transfer with my company or find a new job in a less expensive area no more that 45 mins from Nashua. Any suggestions for an "inpexpensive" place? Hell, at this point I may even learn to like the rural thing if it will make her happy. Any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance.

You could ask my husband. I feel exactly like your wife feels right now. I want to go back to my Family in NH too but hubby is questionable but willing to make the change. He's looking at the economy aspect of it. I'm looking at the well being and happiness for myself and my daughter. We got it pretty good here in FL now but it's miserable with having no family around. I've been away 14 years from them. We even have places to stay but the worry is will he be able to make the same kind of income up north as he does here. He's in the auto business so if nobody brings their cars in for repairs, he gets no pay and with the economy as it is, that's his worry. I work at home so my income won't change. I don't know what to suggest. I would say if you have a job before the move your one step ahead of the game. Your wife may need to get a part time job to help make ends meet but with her family around, maybe they will be able to help with the childcare. Wish i could offer more advice but again, i'm in the same mind as your wife at this time so whatever she's told you already, i probably would agree.

I know the situation: I really want to get back sooner than 7 years.. but hubby's job is here until he retires. I so want to get back and be close to what's left of my family.
BTW, if Nashua is too expensive, you most likely won't like Hollis - it's pretty pricey, too.

I'm going back to Northern NH. Yes in the rural area but that's where i grew up. If you like to do things outdoors year round, that's the place to be but again, jobs are scarce up in that area of NH

Check a map and Realtor.com for the towns out past Hollis and Amherst. Write a note to Valeriec on this board. Check the forclosure lists for the area. Between now and next year is a good time to be buying but not such a good time to be selling houses.

Excuse me...isn't this considered advertising? I have have posts banned for saying I have a house for sale, even though I didn't post details here. I would think this is the same thing.

Yeah. things like that should be sent by a Private Message but i guess it all depends if somebody reports the post to the moderator or not whether it gets deleted or not.
