Breakfast in Lakes Region
Hi everyone,
I am looking for suggestions for places to have breakfast out this weekend in the Lakes Region.
Thanks,
Nicole

Depends on what type of atmosphere you want of course.
In down town Laconia there is a great place for breakfast, but it is more of a "Mels", kiss my grits busy place not a champagne brunch atmosphere. The Soda Shoppe 30 Beacon Street EAst 524 2366. It is sorta tucked under the parking garage over near the busiel mill plaza. Again its not fancy and if your taking your grandmother out, not the place--its eggs and waffles and bacon etc was very good when I used to go there. Plenty to eat. Been more than a couple of year.

My favorite place is the Tilton Diner. Its an old 50's style metal train car diner with a huge selection of breakfast foods. Its not bad food either, I like their eggs benedict. Large windows to look out at the shoppers, and fast service. Its located at the junction of 93 and...Oh I forgot! its near all the shopping plazas including the Tanger outlet mall.

If I remember right, it's just off Exit 20. We last ate there a couple of years ago, and the food (lunch) was great. I imagine it's PACKED on the weekends.
Note to anyone who lives in the area, is the Tilton 500 still around?? A trip to the lakes region as a kid wasn't complete till we had a ride on those go-carts!

I haven't heard of that place Val, but then again I'm still lost in a parking lot on the weekends. Its busy in Tilton on the weekends. We do our grocery shopping during the week and stay home on the weekends if we can help it.

It's not "Lakes", but there's a great place in Rochester--Benedict's Grill. They do know their eggs benedict.

Thanks-my husband works in Dover and we shop in the area sometimes-so we will check it out. I love food and eating out-especially breakfast. I am always looking to try new yummy places.

Nicolem, I may have made the recommendation before, but I've had a couple of great experiences at Mojito's in Dover. Their namesake drink is the best I've had anywhere, and the menu had lots of imaginative things the last time I was there. IMO, it's a place to hit early on a weeknight, as I've a feeling it gets full of 20-somethings later on and on the weekend nights, and turns more into a sports bar/dance club.
