I don't see the need to hem or haw. I know of no master planned community anywhere in NH. The population density thus far would never economically justify that scale of planning and development. The closest thing on paper is Manchester Sand & Gravel's plan for the northeast corner of Hooksett, but that is another generation away.

The poster does not post an age, but if this is a retirement gig, there are a couple of subdivisions of nice, but downsized homes with a little bit of greenbelting down towards the Merrimack side of Bedford off Wallace Road. No contained-retail per se in these developments, but the Bedford shopping district is not too far away.

Having lived in OC, I can pretty safely say that there are NO "master planned" communities like Irvine, although there are some nice developments. It's just a bit more work to find the kind of areas you want.
