But the fact remains that some of the guys on that board work for companies who have dealt with Extreme directly and came away very disillusioned. Don't discount their opinions because there are other idiotic responses in there as well.

Like I said before, just adding the opposing viewpoint.
I think people need to check their attitudes a bit and be realistic when donating materials or time to these shows. A local vendor is unlikely to get much exposure if your consider their contribution vs. say, the home builder, or Sears.

As for the plumber who said no dice at 9pm.... well: get with the program!!!

Sometimes the show is a little over done on the drama, but it is amazing that
a house is built in a week. Also, it's great that a family now has a home that
lost everything. Why did they get chosen? Well, why did they lose their home
to a flood when they weren't in a flood zone? I enjoyed the story, and I think
it's wonderful how so many in the community joined in to help.

"There are so many people that need this more than us. Why our family?" ~ Reynald Voisine

"On behalf of our family I would like to thank our entire community. We have
had a truly extraordinary life-changing experience. We were given a chance
to start anew. We have a very beautiful home that our children can grow up
in, but it is where they are growing up that is the most important, in our
community...." ~ The Voisine Family

Smile Fact or what?

I have to tell you guys, I cried like you wouldn't believe with this one, it was the best best one out of all the "Extreme Makeover Home Editions" they've ever ever done. It was absolutely THE best one that I've ever seen out of all their shows. One of my nephews helped by volunteering, he was from one of the local colleges they helped with the furniture and all that...well, about a week after it all died down, he took us over to see the house, we did a quick drive by! They did an awesome job on it. We were SO SO happy for that family.
But there's this rumor in the last couple of weeks that's flying around southern New Hampshire, that this family sold the house already? Did any one else hear that or can they confirm it? I was so surprised to hear that. I thought they wanted that neighborhood and would do anything to stay there, right? May be it's just a rumor, in any case, that's what's flying around the state these days....
