Hooksett
Does anyone know anything about the Mount St. Mary condos in Hooksett? We'd be using this as a seasonal home during the summer to put us near our grandchildren.
Thank you.

It was converted from apartments to condominiums. I heard they are trying to construct a new building (with 73 units) behind the existing building (not sure if you're aware of this).
The condo's are very convenient to most stores, Route 93 & Manchester.

I drive by that building very often, and absolutely love it. Since I was a little girl, I always wanted to live there. Now that it's a housing complex instead of a school, I've changed my mind. I've heard that the prices are incredibly high, and although I've never been inside (it might be worth the price), I can't pay more than a mortgage would cost for something I don't own, and have to share. I don't mind apartment living, but there are too many "neighbors" in that building for me.

I live at Mount Saint Mary's, and I can tell you that the condos are beautiful, with high ceilings and brand-new renovations. I have lived in Hooksett all my life, and I have always admire the buidling. Yes, the prices can be steep, but for the beauty of the building, its grounds, and its location, I think it is worth it. You get what you pay for. I'm a new homeowner in my mid-twenties, and it's a great place to start out in. However, there are people of all age groups who live there, and I think it's a perfect place to live if you are sick of yard maintenance, plowing/shoveling, and all that comes with owning a house. There is also a ballroom for functions, and a "rec room" with leather furniture, big-screen TV, and a pool table.
Currently there is some construction going on nearby. A different managment company is adding condos next to and behind the Mt. St. Mary's building.
My advice is to go see for yourself. There are many open houses going on right now. It really is a quiet place to live, and if you get a unit facing the front, you have a wonderful view as well.
