Title pretty much sums it up. I've lived in Southern VT for a little over a year now, and am curious what life is like on the other side of the river. I've met native Vermonters who have crossed over, and have been advised to look towards NH as we're starting a family very soon.
So, if you've moved from VT to NH, what motivated you, and are you happier on the eastern side of the river?
Happy to hear any input, even if you haven't specifically moved from VT to NH.
We moved to VT partially because the culture, partially just to get away from other New England congestion. With a baby coming, I'm more interested in things like availability of starter homes and being in a place with a good economic climate, rather than being someplace "hip."
Vermont is the same as New Hampshire. Other then varying tax structure.
Vermont appears to have more towns that appreciate their heritage although some NH towns are attempting to clean up the downtowns. Downtown Belmont, NH for example.
I've lived in both places and find them to be pretty similar at the real-world, real-people level. Tax structures are different but each state gets a piece one way or the other.
The rest is marketing.
