More Snow for NH
The fun just doesn't stop here in Madbury.
As of noon, my $750 snowfall accumulation instrument shows another 6 inches....

Yeah its been snowing here non stop since I got up at 5:30 this morn. It was coming down before that cause the roads were covered although I'm not sure how much we've gotten.. It doesn't look like its stopping anytime soon though.. It can snow all it wants this weekend as long as it doesn't next weekend so I can drive for vacation!!!!

I almost feel guilty out here, we are having gorgeous weather. The sky is all blue mixed with clouds. But people are still b****ing about how cold it is. I keep thinking to myself, they have no clue to "cold". Atleast I have lived in Iceland and froze my a** off, but still loved it. I just find that So Cali people b***h about everything. I read in another post, I forgot where, about people cleaning their cars. Right after it rains it seems everyone has to wash their car, god forbid their car has a smuge on it...
Seriously I hope you all stay warm and safe. From what I saw on the weather channel it looks like more and more snow.
Oh Rob, great BBQ, I bet you are excited to use it.

I WISH we could wash our car, its terrible, all the salt and nasty dirt and a brownish greyish film all over. It rained yesterday but the stuff didn't budge! I dread the damage when we get back to Fla. I'm hoping cause its one year its minimal! I'm going to Fla on Sunday so I can't WAIT for some nice weather.. Its been just grey grey grey here forever! Its getting a tad on the depressing side. Lack of sun with do that to ya cause you'll start to lack vit D so I'm hoping some constantly Fla sun will reboost my system.. I gotta remember to be nicer to the tourists now in Fla who come down in Feb!! I see their reasoning now.. I'll feel bad for em!

Tara, I am so sorry you are so unhappy. I will try to will some of our sunshine to you. Atleast you are going back home for a visit. That should regenerate your inner motor some. And then soon enough you will be packing to go home for good. Time really does so fast. Then you can enjoy BBQs on the beach and watching the sunset..

Seems southern NH has had a tougher winter then us in Connecticut. We had the burst of snow before Christmas, that was mostly washed away by rain- then another storm of about 4-5 inches about 15 days ago, The weather thus far in January has been slightly above normal- very little snow now, next several days starting February 1st- mid 40s by day,
Even in New England there climatic differences. For us living in 'Sub tropical' southern New England we forget how relatively 'easy' we have it sometimes.

You'll notice that change when you get out here. Even my father notes how much more relaxed I sound when I speak with him on the phone.
I was in Vegas a month ago when it was low to mid-50's and I'm walking around outside in a short-sleeved shirt while everyone else it seemed was bundled up like they were in the Arctic. Strange, indeed.
Oh, and as for the BBQ? No worries--steak tips and twice-baked potatoes this weekend, kids. I've run mine in sub-zero temps. Just takes a little while longer, that's all.

You know, our winter up here in Littleton hasn't been as bad as it has been in the southern areas of NH this year, which surprises the heck out of me. The day rmcewan posted about the snow in that area, we had sunny skies and it was really nice out. We had a crappy day yesterday, but today it's supposed to be sunny again - tomorrow we get snow and possibly freezing rain. I know it hasn't been as cold as it was last year....last year we had a lot of cold, but little snow until February.
The summers also are very different. When the southern parts have had some horrendous t-storms, winds, etc., go through, we didn't. We would have some storms come through, but nothing damaging and none of the major flooding south of us.
One thing that scared the beejeebers outta me one day was wind, but I didn't realize it was wind I was hearing, as weird as that sounds. At "house level" there was no wind - we have windchimes outside and they were still. There was a sound that was like a freight train starting to come through and my first thought was ACK! Tornado!!!! <g> Then I realized it was wind very high up that was making the sound. I've heard it a couple of times now and it's always "still" at house level, but you hear the wind roaring overhead...very weird for this "flatlander."
