Haha well since you are speaking my language..lol. Yes ma'am I will delete these for you. And its amazing what a bit of flattering will get you . I love the pic of your car in the driveway. I am out here with the air conditioner on. I absolutly hate the heat!! I am not looking forward to the summer out here at all. The snow looks refreshing, but I am sure you guys are all tired of it by now...or maybe not.

Valerie that is a good idea. I made him chocolate chip, peanut butter and some of my famous toffee, he in turn sent me home some belgin chocolates that I still have sealed in a baggie, I couldnt eat them. Oh and about Johnny, he was the perfect Pirate. I wouldnt mind being trapped on an island with him.

Boo, I loved your pictures!! You have a talent for sure. I love looking at pictures. I have some pics that I have taken at the beach too. Maybe I will post a few on the pic thread.

Val - You know, it's weird - Every time I watch the news/weather, it seems south and east of us keep getting the storms, then I look out and say "Hmmmm" I think south and east of us has gotten bigger "shots", but we keep getting a few inches at a time, so it doesn't seem like a big storm, but it keeps adding up! I think the highest temp we're supposed to get this week is around 37.

Well here in Laconia-the snowbanks are MUCH higher than my car. They have nowhere to put the snow-both sides of my driveway are piled so very high. Our road is finally clear but we have another round of rain, snow, ice, sleet coming today. We have had quite a few buildings in Laconia have roof collapses. The shut the Kohl's in Tilton(nearby town) for a sagging roof yesterday.

I think the major concern for today is the rain on the roofs with all the snow and more ice dams.

It was very surreal this morning. As we were outside-seeing gigantic snowbanks we heard the birds chirping. Maybe they know spring will be here soon?

Talking Watch out, here I come!

Hey D2D, I'll be up in your neck of the woods Friday evening March 14 through Sunday morning. So if you see crazy NY plates cruzing the streets, please be nice, I'll only be temporarily lost in gazing, drooling, and snapping pictures of the surroundings. My hubby has a job interview up that way Friday afternoon and I'm sure we'll be making our way around Littleton also!!

Just out of curiosity ... are there any smoke free restaurants or bars? One great thing NY has done is mandating a smoke free environment. I have a horrible reaction to cig smoke and have been hospitalized prior to the law changing. I've finally been able to go out to bars and restaurant and be at ease knowing I won't be sick afterwards.

Can't wait to visit! 10 more days ... ... not going to come fast enough.

Hey SkiChick - I'll be sure to watch for those crazy NY-ers <g>. As far as I know, all the restaurants and bars up here are smoke free now as well, so I don't think you'll have any problems. Where will you be staying? Thayers Inn with the ghosts?????

Does that make you anxious at all?
My husband just asked me if he should get tix to a flower show in Boston and I said no, because I'm not driving there (or being a passenger)! He's at his wits end w/my road anxiety.
I didn't mean the 101 fwy in CA, but Rte 101 here. It's a beautiful (imo) 2 lane hilly route through S. NH. and driving it from here to Jaffrey was a bit more than I bargained for. Like lots of roads here, it's one lane in each direction w/no divider. I think someone here said they won't drive it at night...

To answer your question, I haven't had to drive in snow that freaked me out yet. Side roads stay covered for quite awhile, but the main roads are usually clear. I guess since I make a conscious effort to stay in when it does snow I've been fine w/it.

Kudos to you writers out there! I'm a reader(does that count?) and just reading the descriptions of your ideas & works in progress has me wanting to read them!

WOW Thank you for the GREAT news!!!! My sister just moved to Bend, OR and went out to a restaurant and the wait staff asked "smoking or non-smoking". Her jaw dropped from being totally thrown off guard. That was one of my biggest fears of moving to NH (silly as it may seem). Not everybody is on board with this regulation. Thayers Inn would be very tempting, but the school district is going to help find a place for us and work out a deal for the weekend. That was just so generous of them and we weren't ever expecting that kind of assistance! One more thing to add to my "why I love NH list".

OK, next question ... where to get Whoopie Pies while there?

You know, I was thinking about this after I answered you...I *think* 99 up here did let people smoke in the bar (not the restaurant proper), but I'm not sure if they still do or not....I've never really paid much attention to it...wherever you decide to go, just call ahead and ask if it's non-smoking, but I'm pretty sure they all are now.

Which school district will you be dealing with? It *is* nice of them to find a place and work out a deal for you! When we moved here, the place where hubby found a job put him up in Thayer's for a week while I was still in NY getting ready for the move <g>.

Whoppie Pies....can't answere that one for up here, mostly because I've never looked for them.....I have to go to the dentist this afternoon, so I'll ask the gals in the office if they know....I'm sure that will go over well in a dental office

Let me know where you'll be when you are in the area - if time allows and you'd like, maybe we could "do lunch" (I hated that phrase in NY and I still hate it...can't believe I just typed it!)
