Why did my thread get moved to the general off-topic chat thread? It wasn't off the topic. I wanted it to be visible to those who are considering moving into NH and homeschooling, and also to newcomers who are trying to figure out the area. Would you have moved a thread discussing potential public or private schools and what it's like to send a child to them? Please reconsider.

I moved your thread because you specifically said you wanted a chat thread. This forum has 1 sticky for all chat posts. If you were moving to New Hamshire and had questions about homeschooling, that would be different, but I did not get that impression.

Per our Terms of Service: "This is not a chat room - when people hi-jack threads by posting messages that are of interest to only few people, the threads often stop being useful discussions of initial topics."

My husband has lived in S. NH all his life and I've been here 8 years now. Our kids are 5, 2, and an infant. I was homeschooled myself so being a newbie homeschooling mom doesn't scare me too much. Are you new to homeschooling or previously experienced? You don't have to answer all my nosey questions, I'm just curious.

BTW, I just posted some local pics in the photos thread. A couple from Amherst, I think.
Thanks, we're new to Amherst but I grew up in NH. We have four children, 7, 5, 2, and infant, so we've been homeschooling for a few years now. It's nice to have the kids around since we enjoy them so much.

Did you enjoy being homeschooled?

Has anyone heard from Country lately? I don't think she's posted since early May. I hope she's ok.

Just wanted to pop in and say HELLO to everyone. A somewhat unexpected trip to Canada turned into an extended stay, and I've missed being able to visit my favorite addiction, the City Data forum Hope everyone is doing well--I see that it's as hot and sticky as it was when I left--what's up with that?? Has there been any relief from the muggies this past week??

Well, I"m off to browse the topics (anything to stay in this nice air conditioned office--no AC at home LOL!)

Nope nothing, notta, nil...I know her mom was real sick. Wish someone had a way to contact her. Nice seeing ya Casey - been too quiet everywhere - guess it's the summer time and noone wants to at a computer LOL.

Oh, I didn't know that. Maybe she will start posting again when she has the time. What made me think of her was that some of the moderators were having a discussion about members whose posts make you smile, and immediately thought of her, she's so sweet.

The forum has been fairly quiet, but on the other hand, there are lots of inquiries from members who are checking out NH for future relocation, judging from the recent posts.
