Hi everyone-kind of quiet in the chat room here. How is everyone doing? Gosh isn't it a beautiful day here in NH? How is your weather? Not a cloud in the sky here in Laconia and around 54 degrees the last that I checked. We are about 10 days away from the big "40th b-day surprise" and I have not said one word to my husband. All he knows is that he is to take a vaca day from work on 4/25.

We are going for a run when he gets home from work- I so love running outside instead of the boring dreadmill!

Enjoy the good weather my friends!

You know, quiet is ok with me. I was just reading the fast moving post by greenmartian et al, and it started to give me a headache. That thread, as much as I may agree, started to take on a life of its own. Sometimes I just gotta backoff and watch. Other than that, it's a glorious day here on Cape Cod and life is good!!

It is pretty quite here today. My daughter is at work right now, it is her last day a blockbuster. She has been there for 2 years, as she finishes her writting classes. The landlord raised the rent by 10,000 bucks. Now blockbuster would be paying 20,000 a month. So they said no way, and are closing their doors, after being in the same location for I believe 12 or more years. It is amazing the price of rental space in this strip malls.

Our weather has cooled off a lot. Yesterday it was almost 90, and now it is in the 70s'. I am glad, I was so not ready for the heat. I cant stand hot!!

I am into the 2nd day of my 2nd fasting. Today I am a bit hungry, but it will pass. As far as my panic attacks, I have noticed a difference, a postitive one.

nicolem, I am glad you have been able to keep the secret from the hubby. He will love his BD when it gets here. My husbands BD is in June, we are thinking of taking a cruise to Mexico for 4 days. We will arrive in Cabo on his BD. It should be fun. Now getting him actually on the ship will be the hard part. He is a true workaholic, and we have had to cancel so many of our trips due to the fact that he cant leave work. So this time, I might just have to drug him..lol.

bry, I was getting a headache too. I had to close it. I could see the direction it was going. For some reason, if you dont agree with a person reguarding politics or global warming or any other "hot topic", it gets snotty, or there are name calling, blah blah blah. You couldnt pay me enough to be a mod in the P&O forum. My hat is off to the mods there. They really take a lot, and do a great job.

I also like to linger in the background and see what people are saying, and being a mod, I have to bite my tongue sometimes.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday

Do you already have a special gift for your husband? I remember on my 40th my wife had a surprise dinner for me with many good friends and then we flew kites! Happy birthday to your husband and many many more good times and good health!: )

That sounds like your wife gave you a great 40th b-day!

Thanks-yes I am surprising him for his 40th by lunch atop a lighthouse in Newburyport, Mass. We will be the only ones in the lighthouse as I have "rented" it so to speak. The views are supposed to be spectacular. The rent is a donation to the Lighthouse Preservation Society-which helps to preserve the lighthouse. My husband and I like lighthouses and have visited quite a few and think preserving them is important. We will be staying at a nice inn and going around Plum Island and do a lot of hiking, exploring, etc. for the weekend. You need to make the reservations way in advance and I had come here after I made them to ensure that I not spill the beans as I want it to be a surprise. That has been hard as when we are going somewhere- I like to talk about it with my hubby. However, I truly want him to be surprised and we are almost there!

Way to go, Nicole! I know it's been hard to keep it secret so long (I'd have bust a gut trying), only a few more days. It will be so worth it.

Thanks, Suzette, for closing that thread. While I agree with the OP's ideas, the original presentation was so (to my feeling) brusquely 'in your face' that it just begged for people to stand up and oppose it. I'm sure he meant well, it just didn't seem the best phrasing for the purpose. Or maybe it was what he meant! either way, it was getting pretty nasty. and btw, ewwww: 90d in april?? Girl, you need to move out east! No quakes that you'd notice, and the temps like that don't come anywhere near so early (mind you, there is the cold...)

Comet, that sounded like such a fun birthday! What a nice way for someone to tell you to 'go fly a kite'

Good Morning and Happy Thursday everyone! We are going for the hat trick today-three gorgeous days in a row. We "may" hit 70 although high 60's are more likely. The third day in a row that I look up in the sky and see NO clouds and just beautiful beautiful blue! It has been awesome running the past few days-most of the snow is off the road and the the sidewalks by where we run. This is great.

How is everyone? Make sure at the very least you get out at lunchtime and enjoy this weather!

Have a good day everyone.

Yes, another gorgeous day! I'll admit to spending hardly any time indoors lately. Trying to rake out areas in preparation for gardens. A huge job. My family is looking for clean laundry...
Nicole, you're bringing a camera up to the lighthouse, right? I imagine it will be beautiful there.
