My partner, who has lived at our house for 14 years, every year around this time gets a "Notice of Removal" that the Supervisor of the Checklist for our town (Grantham) has had it "come to our attention that you may no longer be domiciled at...." and requires us to file a domicile affidavit or appear in person at a session of the Supervisor of the Checklist.
She's current on her car registration. She's current on her DL, which has our address on it. She's got utility bills.
We're not sure why, and the Supervisor of the Checklist refuses to answer, what caused her to "come to their attention", but having ones voter registration challenged year after year is annoying.
I mentioned this thread to my wife that is a Supervisor of the Checklist and her response is that this is an abuse of the SofC's powers. Your partner should send a complaint to the Secretary of State of NH in Concord. Address details can be found on the Web.
We did manage to get her resinstated, but never did get an answer of "why?".
We will be complaining to the SoS.
