Post Latest Storm

I have been looking at the radar and accumulated precip maps and it appears that NH has been getting quite a big storm overnight into this morning Has the snow and sleet changed back over to rain in your area?
Will flooding be an issue with this much rain falling in the middle of winter?

There was about 6 in of new snow on the ground about % am this morning. The weather was changing to freezing rain and rain. Intellicast display indicates that a very hard rain is going to hit sometime this afternoon of evening. Flooding of low-lying areas is likely because the frozen ground cannot absorb any water as it does in the summer. If all of this precipitation were snow we would be having a lot of trouble.

Up where we are, we had maybe 3-4 inches of new snow? Right now there's a light rain which is supposed to go to freezing rain, then back to snow for another inch or so. I heard Whitefield, which isn't far from here, had about 8 inches.

We are having some significant flooding over here in keene, water is just above ankle deep on my street and sidewalk. Some streets are impassable and Main street has quite a bit of water on it. It snow a lot durning the middle of the night then switched to hail and now constant rain. Been raining since about 5 this morning. Our powerlines connected to the house have ice covering them and some trees are getting a nice glazing of ice.. I'm not sure how much snow but it was mid tire on my car so 5-6 inches perhaps, another inch or so of sleet and then the rain is washing it all into the streets. Its mess and too dangerous to be out driving, we tried to but couldn't get off the street. We're also under a flood advisory

It's pretty bad out there. Schools closed. 6 inches of snow overnight, then sleet and freezing rain. Been raining all day. Went out to the market just now and had to take a run-up to get the Jeep over the mound the plows put in my driveway. Plow also nailed my mailbox today. Nice. Roads are deep in water in some places, but I think only because the snow is preventing drainage - rather than river issues.

Days like this I'm glad I put snow & ice tires on my Jeep.

Winter rain is just the worst. I'd much rather have 18" of fluffy white snow than this....

Here in Londonderry we had about 6" of snow overnight. Went outside to clean off cars, driveway, and it was ok UNTIL the sleet/freezing rain/rain began. Now it's pouring, just awful here

Home Inspection should be fun tomorrow, but on the bright side, if there is any leaking going on either roof or basement, it will be readily apparent

My poor neighbor was outside yesterday morning at 4 am then 6 am snow blowing half the street then the driveways, then last night in the pouring freezing rain he was out in the driveway with an axe chopping divets in his ice covered driveway to try and get the water moving from the top of the driveway to drain to the street..Gotta say first time I've seen someone intentionally take an axe to their own driveway

Did you film your neighbor w/the axe (lol) Our driveway needs that treatment. Here in Hollis we got 5-6 inches of snow before it turned to rain in the early am yesterday. then rain all day. Local flooding here too. Our driveway, although snowblown many times now, has a thick coating of ice on it, and yesterday half our garage was a big puddle.

And yes, those leaks are apparent when it rains like that. One of our windows (an addition to the house) is very slowly dripping. Another of the items we'll take care of in the spring.
