Hello!

My husband and I want to take a road trip this weekend. It's going to be beautiful weather. We haven't been up to NH in a while. We love it there. However, not too familiar w/ hiking/walking trails.

I was looking for maybe a state park w/ trails or another park just in general that has good trails w/ different levels of difficulty. Although, I would always take the easiest one. Not to that point yet of harder trails.

Also - I was looking at the state park website - it looks like the parks aren't staffed yet. It appears they are opened, but not staffed, correct?

Thanks for any suggestions. It's appreciated.

Bear Brook and Pawtuckaway both have good hiking trails.

If you want to go a bit further, Mount Major in Alton or Mount Shaw in Ossipee are great hikes.

Talking There are so many hiking trails, it's difficult to recommend just one.

Don't forget the bug spray -- black flies and ticks are out and about already.

Usually most trails would be impassibly muddy in April, but you're in luck, we're having a mini drought. Don't worry about the schedule -- our State Park lands are always open for recreation even if unstaffed or when "facilities" are closed.

The most interesting "Easy" hike I know is Monson Center, on the south edge of Milford. And when you're done, you can drive 10 minutes north to the Milford Oval for dinner.
