I think the whole Conway area is nice- it does seem however that everytime I go up it is more built up everytime. Maybe Conwaynative will shed some light on the property taxes for you.

Used to be like that, but not so much any more. The state built a local road, and that has helped. Not w/o traffic, but not anywhere like it used to be.

There are ways around, but I wouldn't post that... need to keep some secrets.

You can kind of tell as you drive around. Some streets do get more drive by traffic like any town. There are areas that are better suited to getting around the traffic. SE of Conway (head down Rte 153) is a good way to head. Easy to get in and out quickly.

Hales is a small town w/o services that has a development just west of North Conway. Most homes are expensive, but taxes are very low. A $500,000 home pays $1200 in taxes. Oh, they come with golf for 2 -4 people.

Tamworth and Albany are high. Bartlett is reasonable, but a bit more north.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will do a search on the NH property tax rates for other towns within the county.

Colin, How did you make out looking at property in the Freedom area. I recently bought a house in Effingham which is close to Freedom.I haven't been able to sell my house down here so i cant move up there yet. As a kid i used to hang around the Freedom, Madison Ossipee, area a lot.It sure is a beautiful area. I can't wait to get back.
