Default UFOs in NH?

Okay, coming from another thread in the NH forum (the Exeter one) and I just thought I'd throw this out here We know about haunted places in NH - how about UFOs/alien abductions, etc?

The area where I lived in NY was very close to many sightings and if I'm not mistaken at least part of the book _Communion_ (I think that was the title, by Whitely someone or someone Whitely? Geesh, CRS big-time here!) was centered around experiences in that area.

We heard about an abduction in the Franconia Notch area when we first moved to the area (supposedly happened many years ago)...and wondered if there were other stories?

Ittiz is on a distinguished road
I haven't heard of much in New Hampshire. But my family back in Maine tell me of weird stuff on occasion, silent helicopters and such.

Glad to see this as a thread on the New Hampshire forum Dare-- I live in CT-

I am familiar with the two famous UFO encounters of the 1960s- the first being the ordeal/abduction of Betty & Barney Hill in 1961 not far from Franconia- later made into a book (still available) & TV Movie 'The Interrupted Journey' and The Exeter Incident- the book 'Incident at Exeter' in September 1965- also still available.

Both fascinating. The Exeter Incident has never been explained after over 42 years. The Air Force tried a cover up-but later recanted- and said it had no explanation of what was seen. Only two of the witnesses to the event are still alive.

The Hill's story has had many interpretations over the last 46 years- from 'fantasy' to delusional etc. Buit no matter what the explanation it stands as iconic in the abduction records. The Hills are both now deceased.

Additional links here;

Glad you enjoyed those spooky links about other world visitors Suzet

New Hampshire sure has had some famous UFO events- CT has also, but nothing like the two in description above. The Lakeville sightings in the autumn of 1967, made news back then- a rural area in north western Connecticut.

Hello again----I here they have had record snow in New Hampshire this winter. Down here we have had below average snowfall amounts- and right now the ground is nearly bare of snow. As you can see the weather here is not monolithic-- we have had mostly rain. We had 2 storms just before Christmas, and 2 small storms since of a few inches.

All of Northern New England really received lots of snow this year. The 'demarcation' line between rain and snow as the predominate precipitation seems to extend from about south central Mass-east to south of Boston.

Skytrekker - Thanks for the links. Lakeville had sightings too? I spent a lot of time in Lakeville back in the early 70's <g>

UFOs have always fascinated me.....when I read _Communion_ I had a hard time sleeping, though, kept waking up thinking those little guys were hangin' out in my living room!
