The reality show from Animal Planet follows Game Wardens. The first seven seasons were filmed in Maine, they switched over to NH for season eight.

I enjoyed watching the show when it was filmed in Maine and I have continued watching now that it takes place in NH. I forgot that the new season was starting this month so I've been catching up on the episodes I missed using the Animal Planet app.

I've only caught one episode of the NH version. I couldn't take watching the ME version because the show was pretty much

"Maine Game Wardens, GUILTY until you can prove you're not"

I've been watching it. I enjoy it. I don't see any predatory behavior towards the public from the wardens, at least not yet. Like any law enforcement, they deal with a lot of troubled people and people with previous run-ins with the law.

The first episode where they pulled a body out of the river with the dive team was tragic. I don't understand why people don't wear PFDs especially in fast moving water.

I give them all credit due for putting up with what they have to put up with.

My husband and I were so sad when we saw that! We are both strong swimmers, but all the swimming skills in the world can't help you if you're knocked unconscious for whatever reason. When we went kayaking in Acadia, we definitely wore PFDs.

I don't hunt but when I go fishing with my brother he always makes sure my fishing license is up to date. He's an avid fisherman and instilled in me at an early age how important it is. When I watched NWL Maine, it seemed like every other citation was for people not having a fishing license or the registration on their ATV was expired.

That was the episode I watched. Fast moving water and I don't think the guy knew how to swim. Didn't he have on chest wadders too while navigating rapids in a canoe? You literally couldn't come up with a more lethal combination.

So far I seem to like it. The Game Wardens are a lot better than the ones in Maine. the guys in Maine are tight asses and never seemed to use discretion. then you watch the shows in Texas and Montana and they are a lot more laid back and use discretion. At least that's my take. I'm still trying to get a feel for the GW's in NH but they've only had two episodes so far. I do know that the guy who had the alligator would've gone to jail in Maine and here they didn't even cite the guy. (unless I missed that part)

I would not base opinions off what you see on "reality" TV. It's mostly theatrics. They manipulate the story big time. I've seen it firsthand.
