As we near our countdown to looking to move to the Seacoast area we've reaching a slight snag, with health insurance. Seems (according to the website) there aren't many docs in NH that take our existing coverage. With everything going on with health insurance it's scary to think we'll have to change. So... I thought I'd start with looking for specialists we may need and contact them directly to ask about the insurances they take. So.. any recommendations for: cardiologist, dermatologist, gynecologist, urologist in the seacoast area or not too far would be appreciated.

This gynocologist in Dover is supposed to be very good, especially if you want something that's a bit alternative.

Before contacting various specialists, you should research primary care doctors who belong to a large group practice. They are the ones who make referrals to specialists and they can tell you what insurances they accept. One such group is linked below.

Your going about it the wrong way. Simply call your insurance provider. Talk to a human. Many insurance web sites are simply not up to date, or wrong.

Thanks. With my current insurance I can go to a specialist without a referral. Nevertheless I'll look at the link.

Yes, I am all too aware that the websites are not up to date. I could talk to a representative, but thought actual personal experience could trump any doctor that simply takes our insurance. I'd rather start with people who have had good experiences with their doctors.

Just watch out. Many doctors offices might say your covered, and see you, but after the insurance paperwork is processed, you find out your not. And you personally owe the full amount.

It happens.

You can also enroll in an Obamacare health plan serving New Hampshire, if your NYS plan doesn't work for you. Because you had a "qualifying life event" you don't have to wait for the next open enrollment period to sign on and pre-existing conditions are covered. Don't worry about the Congress repealing Obamacare. It won't happen any time soon. See link.
