BY FRIDAY MORNING...THE FAVORED NORTHWEST FACING SLOPES WILL RECEIVE BETWEEN 6 AND 12 INCHES OF SNOW. THE COMBINATION OF FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW MAY RESULT IN NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS... ESPECIALLY IN THE NOTCHES.

I cant believe it's still snowing there!

I have been in shorts for weeks now and the hot weather is just around the corner. Do you have any flooding yet?? I hope not.

How was it with the separation? frustrating. exciting. I so wanted to be there, but I just couldn't take the time off from work. Turned out my cellphone (T-mobile) had no reception, so he could never call me (and then I'd try calling him... and it never worked). But then I'd get frustrated and call the agent on her phone (United Cellular) and hers worked just fine. So, aside from the frustration of waiting for them to get whereever they were going and link up with me on the phone... (ack!!! ) it worked out well.

Of course, looking at pics of land is a little more difficult to visualize than looking at pics of a house. But I definately had to agree with his assessment of one lot in Antrim: great if you want to farm rocks. my word I've not seen so many rocks in one spot! And I did grow up in southern NH. We ended up buying the lot he liked the most - and I like it too (I have since been to see it. a few times).

It's an unfortunate way to do things, but it's at least some involvement.

Remember also, after you've looked at some areas and have a street address, you can give it to your wife and she can pull up googlemaps and see a birdseye view of the whole area. that can tell you a bit about it too.

More good points. I hope to scout out an area or two to bring the family out later in the summer. This will be my first solo visit and after the scouting I shoud have a good plan for the rest of the family. There should be many land options available to see I imagine.

I am definatly spending some time in Littleton and the lakes area.

Smile what to see while here

Hi Captjob
Welcome to our fine location. We moved here 8 years ago and never looked back. Good luck to you and yours. On topic. If you are in the Madison/Conway area, you must stop in and visit our new store especially moving here, you may need some new stuff. Go visit The Emporium on 16 in Madison the store is gorgeous and full of great stuff-in my opinion, a must visit. Well, that is my two cents. Again, welcome.

Yep still "spits" of snow - we didn't get much at all. Hubby works with a gal whose fiance travels through Franconia Notch to get to work - he saw 3 accidents on his way to work yesterday; here the roads were just wet.

We haven't had flooding in Littleton in the 2 years we've been here, even with the river going through town. I don't remember a "fast warm-up" up here, that may be why we don't see flooding....we seem to warm up gradually....I hope it starts warming up soon - right now it's 16 degrees and the wind is blowing like crazy! It's supposed to hit 40 on Wednesday though!

We had snow on the ground last Easter, too! I thought that was funny, we didn't have a white Christmas that year, but we did have a white Easter...

Default Four days to go!

Only four days until I begin "Project New Hampshire." Arriving on Monday and scouting until Saturday I hope to cover as much ground as possible.

I have listed everyones suggestions as far as places to see, eat and do and I will hopefully cover all of them on this short trip. I plan on taking hundreds of photos and as much video as I can during this trip. I will post as I get them and keep everyone informed of my progress.

Any last minute advice???

Suzett, the seat next to me is still available..

If you're going to be in the northern part of NH - pack some warm clothes - supposed to be 50's to low 60's - if you're not used to those temps, you'll freeze your patootie off.....and we don't want you going home patootie-less

Wow, you've got an adventure! Just make sure you have a good cell phone (not T-mobile :-P ) so you can keep in touch with your wife when you see things. The camera and video will be great. I wish my hubby had a video rather than just the camera since things look so different off a little 4x6 piece of paper :-D enjoy!

Have fun and enjoy yourself. You are taking lots of pictures so that is great. They are forecasting for some heavy rain on Monday and Tuesday so be prepared. It has been warm but looks like it may cool off a bit. As Dare said, you may not be used to the weather so make sure you have warm clothes. 50 feels warm to me but may not to you

I'm from southern/coastal NH, but we spent out winter vacations skiing at Bretton Woods. They are in the Bethlehem area - along with the must-see Mt. Washington Hotel. They are still skiing in Tuckerman's Ravine, I believe. It was just on the news in the last week and blew me away. They actually only let you ski this late in the year to reduce avalanche risk.
Yes, bring warm clothes! The weather was just on and it's going to be cold and rainy - a chilly May week is anticipated (and, by the way, this is pretty typical).
