Bingo. And they all want to move to a rural area in our "pristine, low-tax state" then want to build a house on that pristine hillside and send their 4 kids to our (formerly) low tax town.

NH demographics have shifted substantially over the last 10 years, and the overall percentage of the population under age 18 has fallen in ever county in the state, making it one of the oldest states in the country. With some of the highest university tuition rates of any state in the country, NH faces increasing challenges going forward at retaining younger residents and filling open positions- even with a low U6 unemployment rate. It basically has to depend more on in-migration of middle-aged residents from outside the state because of this.

No kids here. I want to escape CT due to all the taxes, unconstitutional gun laws, and crime infested cities. I do want to live in the rural areas so I can shoot my guns in peace, hike in peace, hunt, and so forth. Also 29 years old, right leaning, and pretty libertarian... so "live free or die" kinda appeals to me as I don't fit in in CT... never have and never will
Oh, I hate DD or Starbucks, give me a French press and some beans and I'm happy

Murk,

250k north of Concord is definitely doable. I just helped a few people find homes on land for that. We struggled to find them a good place when they stuck with 200k or less.

You will fit in well in rural NH.
