I was driving through Hollis and I saw this bright green thing headed towards the Earth. It happened so fast, I almost couldn't believe it. And then this Patch alert just posted.

I have to assume that's what I saw? Don't know, but I've never seen anything like it. I think it was about 5:45-5:50 PM or so. Definitely before 6 as I pulled up at home at just about 6 exactly.

Wow, lucky sighting for you!! I usually plan to be outside for most of the winter meteor showers (the Leonids & Geminids because the cold night skies are usually clear & bright, not hazy as the mid-August Perseids can be... but this year I just don't have it in me to bundle up and gaze at the sky for hours on end in hopes of seeing some action... I am so envious that you got to witness this sight!!

Would have loved to see that, but didn't.

However, I did feel/hear the earthquake last week.

It was so unexpected. I guess I just happened to be driving in exactly the right direction at the right time. Still, I was on a heavily wooded road, so the sighting was brief, but amazing.

I haven't lately! I agree about Perseid meteor shower is abundant up north. When I do astrophotography, during those months the Milky Way core is more visible aside from the meteor that you can literally see every 30 seconds if not shorter. It's a spectacular to see if you haven't. Kancamagus highway or anywhere up north of 93 and Jackson NH is some key location to see them
