Default Property taxes in Nashua & Manchester?

Hi there! Can anybody help us out and give us an idea of what the property taxes average in Nashua & Manchester NH? Lets say on a 250-300,000 home?

Also what city in NH is considered one of the best places to raise a family? Is the crime low in all areas of NH?

Thanks!!! Happy Easter!

http://www.nh.gov/revenue/munc_prop/...ratereport.doc

This page has all the tax rates for all the towns in NH. Taxes just about doubled in Manchester this past year with the new assessments that were done. Everyone was up in arms over it, but our rate is still lower than most around given the services, etc.

I have heard very positive things from families in Bow--including great comments about the schools--but you will pay higher taxes in exchange. But there are many family friendly towns/cities in NH--it just depends on what you are looking for and what your needs are. Good luck!

Lives 4 The Water is on a distinguished road
I moved to Amherst, NH 4 years ago and our taxes have gone up every year! Sorry but it is expensive to live here, but that depends upon where you are coming from... Where do you live now?
We live in a $375,000 home and our taxes are around $8,000/yr. They were $6,200 when we moved here.
The schools in Amherst, Bedford or Hollis are very good (not that the other nearby towns are bad though). I don't know much about Manchester schools. The crime rate in the suburbs is very low - that is nice.
