Manchester's St. Patricks Day parade will be held on March 30th this year (Dover: home)

due to the fact that many of the participants in the city parade also march in Boston's parade, the two are never on the same weekend

normally, the parade is held the week following but this year, due to the Easter holiday, the parade was pushed back even further.


so make a day of it and come celebrate by watching the parade and giving support to the marchers! I hope it's a bit warmer than it has been!

I have to go! DD marches with her group the "Ameri-kids." This year, for the first time, they are being paid to march! I guess only some groups get paid, most do not. I will try to take pictures, but my camera doesn't like the cold.


Manchester paints huge shamrocks on the road the entire length of Elm St. It's pretty neat. Usually there is a good crowd.

I think I'll be there this year as well, since the Londonderry Lancers are marching this year. So many times the Lancers miss the Manchester parade because they are busy in NYC marching (#1 again 2008 ) so this year it's pretty neat that they get to march close to home. Not sure if I'm marching or not... That's pretty cool that the group is paid to march--good for them! I bet they could really use it for their fundraising efforts...

We'll be there as well...hubby is a drummer with the AOH Pipe and DRum band out of Manchester (we live in Dover). We (the monsters and I) enjoyed the parade a couple of years ago, but didn't go last year...too @#$% cold! Hope this year is a bit more tolerable!

What a wonderful parade. Great weather too! It was our first time seeing this parade. It will definitely be a yearly event for us now.

I dunno about there but it was snowing over here and it'd be way to cold to sit out and watch a parade in the snow for me! Hope you guys had fun though and the weather was nice for ya

Manchester's weather was spectacular! Cobalt blue skies, no winds and temps in the 40's! We couldn't have had a better day!

the twirlers are warming up! note the snowbank in the background. Manchester is actually cleaned up pretty good. We have far more snow up in the lakes region.
