Woodstock is a very small town on route 3, aka, Danial Webster Highway, a long side the the Pemigewasset River right next to interstate 93 but maybe you are thinking of North Woodstock right next to Lincoln, just up the road from Woodstock and there is a very good sporting good store there, the name escapes me, but I got some good German made Knives there.
I was told that yes this area is a hunters paradise and that many people had to keep there pets in at night due to Coyotes, that is of course if you had a bigger dog like a rottweiler.
All these towns are beautifully nestled in the White Mountains and give you a true hstoric and nostalgic feeling. I truly could live there.

Hi Dare!
Well out here [ep[;e just use them for their fur pelts.
By the way dare, I was wondering about elementary school districts near you. we have 5 children of which 3 are still in Elementary and Jr High. If we bought property near Woodstock NH would that be in the Littleton School District?
Also what about Home Schooling in New Hampshire. Do many people do that?
does anyone know any good realtors???

Hi Sandbar - As far as I know, if you bought in Woodstock, NH the kids would NOT go to Littleton.
I do know one family who home schools, but since we have no kids that are school age, I'm pretty much "out of the loop" with all things pertaining to schools, schooling, etc.

Hi Sandbar:
I was going to send you this by PM so as not to steer the thread off course, but couldn't access your profile. I think this may help with some of your school district questions.
The NH Department of Education is required by Federal Statutes to compile district report cards and rank the districts. According to a very helpful gentleman I spoke with there, he said the states do NOT like to do this, but since it's required they comply. The next part is that since they are required to compile this data, it's public record and they must make it available to you. The state does make it available via their website, but it's a bit hidden. He walked me through how to access it.
To find the rankings go to:
NH Department of Education - Data and Reports
Don't click on any of the reports over in the reports menu on the right. Instead, look down the left column and just below "Site Map" you'll see a graphic desigh that says NH in the background and "School District Profile" in front. Click on that and a new page will open.
On the new page, over on the right hand side you will find a pulldown menu that says, "Please Select a Report Year." Once you select the year, the next menu will ask you to "Please Select a District." DO NOT SELECT A DISTRICT. Just hit the "View Reports" button. This will take you to a variety of reports. You can now go to the "Report Card" tab. Select "State Report Card" and a pdf file will open.
Just a word of warning. Some of these links can be a bit flakey at times, but if you click around long enough you'll find what you need.
As an example, go to the second box down on the left titled "Student Assessment Information." In that let's say you wanted to see ranking information for Reading in Grades 3-8. Over on the left, you'll see links for the data in Excel Spreadsheet Format. If you just want the pdf, go over one more column and click on the link that says School Ranking List as I recall.
Continue looking around and you'll find all sorts of useful School District information and a few skeletons here and there.

Just wondering Dare, wouldn't kids go to school in Lincoln if they lived in Woodstock?

Comet - I have no clue what school they would go to. Since we don't have school-age kids, we never looked into that type of thing

Hill... where the population is approximately 1000, the local Village store sells shirts that say 'Where the Hell is Hill?', and the sign in the window says, 'If you heard it... you heard it here first'.
