Mt. Washington Hotel also has a golf course that's beautiful. We took a horse-drawn carriage ride at the Mt. Washington that took us along the course - very well maintained, as you would expect. The one in Bethlehem and the Mt. Washington seem to be quite busy during the "season."

When we first moved to Littleton, I saw signs and advertising for one of those indoor golf places (for when you HAVE to have your golf "fix" in the winter <g>), but I'm not sure if that's still in business.
Gosh Dare! I told you that Littleton was full of the Beautiful Rich People! Truly it is God's Country even with Golf!!!!!! I mean how could you ever top that!

I can just imagine playing golf up there in Bethlehem over looking the beautiful White Mountains!!!!k :: ok:

And then just imagine a great cook out with Blue Grass Music and Singing and Dancing!!! Wow! I give Littleton !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greg - Believe it or not, where we lived in NY they had an annual Jack Frost Tournament the end of January/beginning of February - The avid (or should I say rabid? <g>) golfers had colored balls (I'm talking golf balls, so get your mind out of the gutter!!! <g>), would dress in long underwear, coats, gloves, etc. and go out on the courses. It was held as long as the snow was no more than 6" on the ground.......it was a very strange sight......

That is funny about the snow-golfing. Contrary to popular belief, the snow and cold does not seem to be keeping people from outdoor activities. It is wonderful to live in a place which changes with the seasons and offers new challenges and activities for those who enjoy the outdoors. I am out every day and see plenty of people on the trails in the snow/ice/wind/cold. To keep on topic, I'll add that having local safe (not gang infested) trails and open spaces throughout NH's small towns is something to be protected and preserved. In more suburban areas of the US this just does not exist, unless you want to call contrived and overly planned paved paths through densely populated residential areas trails.

My favorite winter trails are the packed snow and ice covered roads in the NH hill country. Just add a Subie AWD car and pretentions to become a rally driver. I do stay on my side of the road and within the posted speed.

Geez Dare!!! Your post made me remember that Johnny Carson show when Arnold Palmer was on with his wife! When Johnny asked, Arnold's Wife if she did anything special before Arnold Played in a Golf Tournament she said "of course I do, I kiss his balls!"

jeanna2008 is on a distinguished road
I agree that Littleton is very "MY Town"ish.. They have the old grist mills, a record length candy counter, a bookstore, everything comfy and cozy of a small town. If you want the box stores its a short drive to the other side of town. I love passing thru Bath, NH to get there. It is home of an "ancient" general store (with an ice cream shop next door) and I love the hometown feel!
