Ashland, Alexandria & Hebron

Derry has long since grown into a little city. I moved my family to the Lakes Region about 10 years ago to a tiny little hamlet nestled on the side of Cardigan Mountain known as Alexandria. Nothing much has changed there in 100 years and if the locals have their way, nothing much is going to. There are no gas stations, no convenience stores, no modern distractions. You can almost see Andy and Opie walking along toward their favorite fishing hole. But an ambitious kid can always ride his or her bike the five or so miles into Bristol and there's a lake and movie store, restaurants and convenience stores. The winters can be brutal, but there's no prettier place to live, work and raise a family.

When you mentioned Derry jlorian, I immediately got hungry and thought of Mary Ann's Diner!!!! Have you been there! Yes Derry was once a nice quint little town and still has some of the old town feeling!
Would you put New London in that category too?

I am afraid to tell my family this, as most of them are Tai Food addicts! Personally as for far eastern food, I prefer Japanese food. But my old French Italian heritage does pose a conflict at times.

Since my husband is not Tai or Italian I usually accompany him to his favorite steak house. So what about a good all American steak House near Littleton? Any sugestions? I hear the Sugar Hill Inn has wonderful French food but where in that neck of the woods can you get a good steak house???
Ghosts or no Ghosts we are still very excited about our trip to the Sugar Hill Inn!

From what I understand Sandbar, the Sugar Hill Inn can also feature your typical American Steak. But as for other steak houses in Littleton I would yield to Dare.

Hmmm you know I am at a bit of a loss for a steakhouse I am going to suggest Baliwicks which is in the Thayer Inn right on Main Street in Littleton. I love it a lot but it is not a Steak house at all but maybe you would like it The 99 serves Steak and I guess I always have a nice meal there and fine service but I won't rave about it

Sandbar and Comet - I have to agree with Aptor Hours here - I can't think of a steak house, either. 99 and Applebee's both have steaks (at least I *think* Applebee's does, haven't been there in ages).....but I can't think of an actual steak house.....Sorry!
