Don't worry, it will still be fine <g>.....I tried looking for the start date and of course I can't find it....even if they do start 4/1, I think you'd still be okay getting around....Make sure you check out Chutter's (the candy store) and the Village Book Store!

Dare! I agree! Littleton, even if there is side walk construction on Main Street, is truly worth the visit! Isn't Chutter's one of the biggest cany stores in the country?

How much snow is on the ground today?

Chutters went into the Gueness Book of World Records several years ago for having the worlds longest candy counter. I don't think it would qualify as the biggest candy store though. It has great fudge! I do happen to know the baker and I think she does super work I think at this time there is about six inches of snow but that is a wild guess and amounts are varying a lot

Comet - As Atpor said, Chutter's is on record as the longest candy counter, but I wouldn't think it's the largest candy store....I wonder if it still has the record for the longest candy counter - Aptor, do you know? I agree with you about the fudge!

I have no idea how much snow is on the ground, as it does vary - we're supposed to have a mix to rain tonight into tomorrow, then snow showers Monday and Tuesday, but the forecasts are rarely correct

The Main Street project doesn't just involve the sidewalks - I believe it's sidewalks, road, sewer system, etc.....should be an interesting time....

I have another question (I have tons of them) I am going to start a bank account in Littleton and I'm not familiar with the branches. Does anyone have any good feelings about their bank? Hopefully this is not to personal, but I see people ask anything on this website.

I will see the candy store and sidewalk construction is no big deal, I will bring my smart level to make sure the slope is correct

We use Woodsville Guaranty Bank and Northern Lights Credit Union - both have free checking and no fees (other than buying checks). Woodsville has a "Golden something or other" account for those 55 and older with free online bill pay, as well (not sure if online bill pay is free if you're under 55). We've used both since we moved here in 2006 and never had a problem with either of them - everyone has been courteous and helpful. Woodsville Guaranty has a "customer appreciation" BBQ in the summer, too

The Main Street Renovation passed yesterday, but I haven't heard the exact start date, but I doubt it will impact your visit....when I first mentioned it, I just wanted you to be aware of it and if something is going on then, it's not a "usual routine" to have things torn up and being worked on

Any other questions feel free to ask - if it's something you don't want to ask on public forum, feel free to DM me if you think I may be able to answer, since I am a relative "newbie" to the area and still learning things as well <g>

P.S. - Radio just said Main Street Renovation will start in 3-4 weeks, so you'll see the "before" - make sure you check out the renovated opera house (at least from the outside, I think they're still finishing up the inside) <g>

I don't know for sure if it still holds the record?? I stopped at Chen Thai today and remebered that you must go in Art to Go, and Sterling Works if you enjoy shopping at all on Main Street they are great I also heard three to four weeks for the Main Street project so looks like you will miss the construction!

Hi Libertariangirl!

Yes Littleton Main Street does have everything a person needs to make sure you have all the comforts of life! IMHO Littleton does fit the profile of a Small Town which most closely represents Small Town America!

Also do not forget those 2 Pizza Shops right across the street from each other! Truly great Pizza!
