I guess we scared the OP away. I think there's a big of a disconnect between taking a job in Lebanon and not wanting to live in a rural area anyway.

I would not recommend commuting from Manchester or Concord. I-89 can get quite icy at times. You can't fool with weather in NH. Turn on the tv and you will see numerous times during the winter where warnings are in place and scenes of cars/trucks sliding off the highways. Additionally, any savings on rent would most certainly be reduced by commuting costs.
