Moving To New Hampshire...need Info...
It's been a while since I've been on here. I am finally getting closer to moving to NH but REALLY need some honest info. I am looking for a nice, quiet area where there are pretty nice houses for rent. No apts, condos, or anything attached to other people....(too many years of experience hearing too much noise attached to me!!!). I am looking for an affordable area that is not 'run-down' looking, that has a nice, neighborly atmosphere. I would also need to live close enough to an area where I can work (in accounting type jobs), but live where it is more quiet, (not a big city feel). I need a pet friendly place to rent.
I know that it seems to be hard to find what I am looking for, but there has got to be somewhere that will work for me. I've heard some people live in NH but commute into MA to work. Any information that would help with what I am looking for would really be appreciated.

Sgthoskins, What does this have anything to do with my moving to NH? I'm sorry but I'm not sure why you even asked this question.

Sgthoskins was poking fun at a closed thread that someone started - that thread was telling people not to move here if your views are not the same as theirs.

Thanks for the answer. I personally have a mind of my own so where I live doesn't change my views!
If there is any other valuable information anyone can give for someone new to New Hampshire ie: most affordable places to live that are nice, best towns/cities for work, etc. I would really appreciate it. I have been to NH a few times mainly camping (which I love to do). One of my concerns is not moving to a place where they have the most problems with flooding. Thank you in advance to anyone who posts helpful info for me.

ab1222, I'm not sure what part of the state you're considering, but the Daily Democrat online has great articles from the floods (both years). Here are some links that might help:
Fosters.com - Dover NH, Rochester NH, Portsmouth NH, Laconia NH, Sanford ME
Fosters.com - Dover NH, Rochester NH, Portsmouth NH, Laconia NH, Sanford ME
In addition to the seacoast towns, Goffstown & Manchester has quite alot of damage from the floods.
When looking for a place to live, remember that floods don't necessarily come only from the major rivers, but also from the babbling brooks that you can see from the kitchen window...

never mind that crap. i don't even know what that had to do with your question. do you want to live near the coast or inland more ? i used to live in rochester. just north of portsmouth. it is very nice in that part of the state because your close to the beaches, if you like to go to the beaches. also the jobs aren't to bad in that area. there are also alot of places to go shopping.
