Why not invite them to live with you in Londonderry Greg? Please don't send them up here.

I would not object to either as long as they did away with the property tax in return. An income tax would be much more fair than relying solely on property taxes.

Greg is correct is suggesting that we remain open-minded. Your "love it or leave it" attitude does not say much for the residents of NH and most of us do not feel this way.

They said the exact same thing in Connecticut when this issue came up there.

They now have an income tax AND property taxes.

Politicians NEVER give up the taxes they already have. Not now, not ever.

If NH were to get an income tax, property taxes would remain the same and then would go up later on. So NH taxpayers would have the worst of all possible words.

This is not opinion, this is fact and we've seen it happen time and time again in other states in the country.

Absolutely-same in NJ. I really think there are people that believe if an income or sales tax were implemented then the property tax would poof disappear. It would never happen nor would it decrease. It is just another way for greedy politicians to their hands on more of your $$. Wasteful spending and unneccesary programs need to be cut. I have to live on a budget-so should the government when using my $$.

Thumbs down genius

You must think George Bush is a smart man too. Good luck with your propaganda martian! You should be a politician. I'm gonna laugh about you when Obama or Hilary wins!

it won't happen - we don't have seat belt laws for adults, helmet laws, etc....

we believe there is a fine balance act between individual freedom and social responsibility. We don't want to be 'keepers or guardians' and we don't want to have to support you......but we don't want you living in a cardboard box under the highway overpass either.

NH has come to a point where the property taxes are unable to support the state so something needs to be done. What is currently happening is the middle class and the poverty stricken are being forced out of their homes and the wealthy will be the only people left that can afford to live here. They are moving here in droves and have already snatched up most of the lake front property. They can afford to. It's a lot easier to live in an income tax free state when you make billions of dollars per year.

Too far from the truth. Don't you have a free .gov hand out line to be standing in?

Again, please don't turn this into a presidential politics thread. The people considering moving to NH probably do not want to wade through tedious mccain versus hillary versus obama messages in this thread.

Thanks for understanding.

He doesn't care. In typical liberal fashion he will continue to spew his far left agenda in hopes that the more he says it the more people will accept it.

It's typical of the passive aggressive types.

Then the size of the state must be made smaller and spending must be cut. Feeding the growth of the state accomplishes nothing but putting money into the hands of the politicians and those who would use them to feather their own nests.

Income and sales taxes are regressive by their very nature and would promote the creation of gigantic state bureacracies that would make accountability for spending almost impossible...similar to the situation Massachusetts is in right now.
