Heading up in October for a few days. We stayed at Mills Falls last time. Great suggestion from this forum! Thank you!

If you want a suggestion on Lake Winni, can't help you. But I can recommend the Mountain Edge Resort and Spa located near Lake Sunapee.

Wolfeboro is a small village with a walkable downtown, restaurants, a few little shops, etc, on the other side of the lake. I'm sure you can find some lodging suggestions for inns and B&B's online.

I like Steele Hill Resorts in Sanbornton. Great view up there, and awesome swimming pool area.
