checking their website and locations - the closest one is on the NH/Mass line in Tyngsboro (right outside of Nashua). There is more in Mass around Boston.

The nearest Trader Joe's is in Nashua, on the DW Highway, right on the Massachusetts border. I really need to head over there today for some "green plant juice" and some carrot juice. Thanks for the reminder!!
I have heard rumors that Nashua is also getting a Whole Foods market, which will be GREAT to finally have locally. |

There are none in NH. The one in Tynsgboro seems to be in Nashua because it is just over the line. I've been very curious about why there are none.

News has been spreading quickly about the soon to be Nashua Whole Foods - I just heard about it last week. In addition to the Tyngs. TJ's, I'll be all set!

We're all looking forward to the Whole Foods coming to Nashua. It's slated to be part of a 600,000 s/f area just off the DW Highway. Nashua Landing is going to be a beautiful, walkable lifestyle center, unlike any other in New Hampshire. Take a look: Nashua Landing
Shaw's, Hannaford and Market Basket all have natural food sections, which include organics. Plus the Manchester Farmers Market each Thursday afternoon on Concord St. will probably have some organic fruit and veggies. These stores focus more on natural and organic foods, plus a wide variety of supplements, etc so you don't have to confine yourself to one or two isles: A Market 125 Loring St in Manchester, 668-2650 Bonne Sante Natural Foods 425 Mast Rd in Manchester, 623-1613 Daily Count 49 E. Pearl St in Nashua, 578-0752 Earth Energies Natural Foods 295 Daniel Webster Hwy in Nashua, 888-2900 Earthward 42 State Route 101A in Amherst, 673-4322 Nutrition USA 93 S. Maple St. in Manchester, 634-4199 I've started doing some reading on "mass-produced organics" which is somewhat disturbing. It just doesn't seem as easy as it should be to be good to our bodies and to the Earth... With even Wal-Mart "going green" it seems to be just a bandwagon to jump onto, a way to tap into the growing organic trends. Here is a fantastic blog that I frequently read (don't always agree with, but sometimes they really hit the nail on the head: Wal-Mart Goes Organic: And Now for the Bad News - Michael Pollan - Opinion - New York Times Blog Has anybody read Michael Pollan's latest book, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto? His previous book, An Omnivore's Dilemma was thought provoking, and a must-read for anyone who is concerned with what we are feeding ourselves and our families. I very much recommend it... |
