Londonberry?
I would really appreciate if someone could tell me a bit about this area of New Hampshire. What kind of home could be purchased at about 230,000? Also, what is the general area like? One more thing. It seems each state and it's people have been somewhat stereotyped. I know, I have lived in Florida and Texas. My parents were from New Jersey and Illinois... Some stereotypes are accurate, while others seem to be totally off base. Anyway, I am in no way trying to offend anyone, I just want to be sure of our next move. So, here goes... Will New Hampshire welcome a good family or will we be somewhat shuned for not being native? I would love to make the change, but I wonder about this? Anyone?

Move to Londonderry
My husband and I moved to Auburn a couple of years ago. It is next door to Londonderry. We didn't know anyone here. We have made new friends, our neighbors are wonderful and I can't image why I lived anywhere else...

How expensive is it to live there? Does Auburn have country? Any information is good for us, as we know little about the area. Thank you.

Auburn is all country! Londonderry is a bit pricey because people from Mass. have moved up there to escape taxes. It's a relatively short commute to Boston and Metro West where the good paying jobs are. It's growing by leaps and bounds which is good and bad. I lived in Derry for about 5yrs and pretty much grew up in southern/central NH. Good luck!

LondonDerry
It is Londonderry...and it is a great place to live with EXCELLENT schools (I live here). It is a friendly place too...not sure you will find anything at 230,000 but it is a possibility. Great for families for sure...good luck!

It looks beautiful, but I have to agree, from what I've heard and seen online- a bit out of our budget. Thank you for your replies. I won't forget, "LondonDerry"

Auburn is a great place to live but it is getting just as pricey as londonderry. New Hampshire is a great place to live and I am sure you will be able to find something within your budget, if possible you will need to go farther north. The towns closer to the border are all real expensive because of the commute to Boston. I was told there is nothing in Aurburn under 360, 000,
Good Luck

I wouldn't count on finding much for $230,000 unless you go Waaaaay north. I'm in Sunapee and my house is listed at $239,000, and that's a whisker less than the average for a quicker sale. It's a small ranch on 2+ acres.
I'd say that for something decent in move-in condition, low 200's is the bottom end here. A friend was approved for a 180K mortgage and can't even find a decent fixer-upper.
On the plus side, it's a really nice place to live. Low/no crime and people don't generally care where you're from. Wish I could afford to stay here.
