Talking change is good

we don't do the breakfast thing as much as we used to since i don't work the third shift anymore. but we still do it once in a while. the only time i drink coffee is in the morning. i have three cups and that's it for the day.

Amen to that!! We have "breakfast for dinner" all the time! I have two picky kids and when you can have pancakes, waffles, french toast, or cheese omelettes and they don't complain, it's a win-win. Besides, I really like breakfast food! I'm not a huge meat eater (beef or pork-I like chicken), so we are always trying different things. Just last night I got in late, so I made myself a huge onion, green and red peppers, ham and cheese omelette. I smothered the top of it with green tabasco. I also made a double batch of grits and toast with fresh italian bread. Then I sat down and watched the last hour of Dirty Harry.

Ahhhh. Bliss.

I don't drink caffinated coffee anymore. I quit three years ago and have never looked back. I was a ten cup-a-day guy and I had been drinking it since I was in high school. It took a month to recover from the headaches but it was all worth it. I only make decafe on weekends, as I do still like the taste and smell. I don't get order coffee anymore because they always screw up and give me regular-I basically will bounce off the walls for three hours when it happens, so now I don't trust anyone but myself to make it.

to combine the diner premise of the post with everyone's comments (i'm always paranoid about getting too ot) I'll say that I love diners that are open LATE. Late nighters like myself appreciate a place to get a good meal, whether it's bkfst lunch or dinner, at a late hour. It's sad that in smaller towns everything shuts down early, imo. bry, dirty harry w/a hot omelette at a late hour sounds wonderful to me too! ah, it's the little things in life that make me smile
however, caffeine should be available round the clock...

Ditto to all of that Lisa! You appear to be a person who truly appreciates the genuine goodness of life! When we were younger my wife and I used to go out for breakfast at 11pm or even later! Those days were certainly fun!

In a perfect world I would have Louisiana Sausage, Butter Milk Pancakes (yes with lots of butter and syrup) and Espresso at 1am in the morning!

That's real New Hampshire maple syrup, right? Can't imagine it's very economical for a diner to serve the real stuff when the high fructose corn syrup alternative is so cheap unless you have a sugar house. I volunteer for sugaring duties!!
