I love that comparison . I have seen some maple syrup in the grocery store in this like tin can with a snowy winter scene on it, and it says made in Vermont, but I just never bought any . I wasnt sure if I would like it . . But I guess I cant go to NE and not try it. So I am looking forward to doing just that . I think I will have to do some searching to see what kind of diners there are near Chesterfield. I looked a bit yesterday and found that most of the listings I got were places in Brattleboro . So I will keep looking.
My hubby loves loves maple candy. So I am sure we will stock up on it while we are there. I read yesterday there is a candy store with the longest candy counter in the country. I think the town was Deerfield or something like that. That would be a fun place to check out.
Haha Nicole, you are so cute . I dont know how far up north you are from where we will be. We are driving to Salem, MA from Chesterfield, I think we go up north a bit, could be wrong, I am still mapping out all the places we are staying and the places we want to go.
Wanna, the maple on fresh snow, wow that is something we could never get out this a way. It sounds wonderful. A maple snow cone .

Also, you will find different grades of syrup, depending on many different factors, like the seasonal variations of temperature, the time in the sugaring season, etc. Every year is different... I would imagine JThibodeau could give us all an education here!
My DH's relatives in Canada have a sugar shack, and they use maple syrup on EVERYTHING from marinades to pies. They pour it over cake, and over venison. It's on the table at nearly every meal, and they always send us home with as many cans as we can carry. So yes, it's a must do when you come to visit New Hampshire!!!
