Does anyone know what an Acorn Contemporary is? How is it different from a normal contemporary?

I've been trying to find out what the meaning of using "Acorn" is to describe various homes. Someone at work hinted it was a very famous builder/architect in the 1970s...but I can't find any reference to it other than in real estate listings...

Acorn House

Basically a pre-fab house.

A house built by squirrels? A round floor plan with a hard shell but soft chewy interior? Prefabricated something built by Acorn?

bryfry- thank you much; I did some searching based on that article and came upon:
Acorn Homes (http://www.deckhouse.com/acorn_homes/default.cfm - broken link)

Apparently they have changed a bit through the years and are no longer unfoldable homes but instead are semi-prefab "green" homes. Interesting!

Acorn and Deck House merged some years ago. I think the only real difference in their designs might have been that Acorn didn't have the same wide open (specially framed) huge rooms.
I don't believe any famous architects were ever involved.
