Captjob, I am jealous!!
You sound like you are having a wonderful time. I am looking forward to all the pictures I know you will post...lol.

Suzet,

You should have come. You would be more determined than ever to get yourself a place out there. I was almost hoping I could find an excuse to check New Hampshire off the list of places I want to live.

Now that will never happen. Try for a fall trip Suzet. Take the isle seat and don't look down.

I'll be there then! We will be leaving a little earlier than you though - we are driving up from NC (yikes says my wallet). I will be on the coastal area and can host a little BBQ type thing as I am renting a house for the 2 weeks. It would be one of those bring your own food but I will supply the BBQ pit, the lake and rowboat

I have been to Meredith (we also went to the Turkey place--last Fourth of July) and to Littleton. (the year before). Both nice places..NH is great, so is Vermont...pretty and scenic, especially in Spring and Summer and Fall.

Just remember, all, you have to work (unless you have a trust fund or are retired) and coming from states like CA & NY (me) where you get paid 'decently' you might realize ole Northern New England is pretty 'crappy' where pay is concerned. There are always exceptions but getting those awesome jobs is kind of rough.

Self employed people seem to do quite, well, also.

Here's one of my photos from Meredith last year.

I though the St J was great. What a great opportunity for the kids. Living in a catchment area would be the best, otherwise it's 13k a year. Still a great opportunity.

Honestly, if I had to choose today, I would have purchased the lot on St Johnsbury Road. Almost directly across from Moore Lake. This place just felt "right" to me. Who knows
