Hi Countrylv22,
That was taken in around Madison on the North end of Silverlake. They had an old train station(restored) with a few vintage trains around. It was nice.

planes . Lol, I think I will do the train thing for now . Well I am currently in the beginings of planning our trip for Oct. I will keep my fingers crossed that we actually make it out there this time. I think my hubby is purposely stopping our trips, cuz he knows if I get out there, I am going to want to stay .
I love the pics you have shared with us. I really love the bridge pictures. I love covered bridges, they touch me somehow. I dont even know how to explain it. I really love looking at them.
A fall BBQ sounds great, so does stopping at Harts Turkey Farm

Suzet - I can empathize with you regarding planes - I was terrified of them. However, a few years ago, I decided I wanted to experience being up in the air just once, at least . At the time, I was still in the "dating mode" before I met my current husband. I met a guy who had his own plane and he came to visit via that plane. He knew about my fear of flying. I met him at the airport (a little rinky dink thing in our town). He showed me the plane, explained how everything worked and I decided I wanted him to take me up in it.
That day, there were a lot of people there with their planes and he told them he was taking up a "fearful flier" - I got so much support from those people, it was amazing. I got in the plane, a single engine no less, grabbed onto the frame around the window and off we went - with all the people on the ground waving and cheering I got to see our area from above, which was pretty amazing. We were only in the air for about 15 minutes (that was enough for the first time), but I'll never forget it. This guy told me that if I could go up in the single engine, I would have no problem with a commercial flight, as I wouldn't feel all the bumps, etc.
After that experience, I realized it wasn't so much that that I was afraid to fly....it was the fear of feeling "trapped" that had me stuck - After all, with him, if I wanted to go back, all I had to do was tell him and he would have taken me back, I doubt a commercial pilot would do the same
Some airlines and airports have fearful flyer "classes" - maybe one near you has something like that? It's just a thought.
I haven't had the need to fly, so have never been on a commercial flight, but I think my experience in the small plane would be something I could look back on to get me on a commercial flight if I wanted to get somewhere that way.
Anyway - regarding your husband purposely stopping your proposed trips to NH - Remind him that you two are married. From what you've said, you do many things for him that will make him happy - now it's time for him to return the favor! If he doesn't want to make the trip, would you be comfortable enough to come out on your own with your daughter? That could be another option for you to see NH....and would probably shock the heck outta him

Dare thank you for the nice post. I think that is awesome your friend was able to take you up in the small plane. I think I would of passed out . How great that people were cheering you on .
I never used to be afraid of flying, I dont really know why I am now. I think it is like you said, the fear of being stuck in a place is what gets to me. Well anyway, I have myself so convinced that I cant do it, that I dont see me doing it anytime in the near future.
I have heard about those fear of flying classes. They have been pretty successful from what I have read. I never have looked into them for myself, as I was never going to get on a plane again .
As far as the hubby goes...well that is another story. Way too much stress, look it is 3:30 am and I am having yet another panic attack, I cant even sleep again. Oh well.
Lets everyone have a happy Friday shall we .
