School System in Wakefield, NH
My husband and I are considering moving into our summer place perm. in Wakefield. While I love the town, I am not thrilled about the schools. We have 4 1/2 year old quads that will be starting kinder. in a year.
My question is this: Do the school systems allow you to choose any district within a certain mile radius, or do you have to go to the local school?
TIA

at least it is a district that HAS kindergarten...not all NH schools do.
I believe that you will be assigned a school in Wakefield - there are two elementary schools. HS kids attend Spaulding in Rochester.

Wakefield Schools
What are the 2 elem. schools? The only one I have seen is the Paul School. Also, when looking at greatschools.net it says that the Paul School is grades 1 - 8. I thought wakefield didn't have kindergarten.
TIA

Thanks for the info Buck. I looked into it.
Do you know if you can pay tuition to another school district (I am thinking specifically for High School to the GW scool district)

every town has it's own rules, but I was able to sucessfully able to tuition my daughter into another town and the town picked up the tuition fees (Derry)
it's a process through the school board, if you can show the child is better off in another school district; then the transfer is considered.
there are varying reasons that are commonly used - sometimes transportation is an issue if you are closer to another district
we are not set up like NY where you can pick and choose where to send students in some districts.

Thanks Buck. Thats what I was trying to figure out. The state we used to live in had districts within districts and you could choose from any of those schools.
I guess when the time comes I will have to look into it further.
