2008 Lupine Festival
Hey just a quick reminder that this weekend starts the annual Lupine Festival at Sugar Hill / Franconia Notch. Note to those of you who may go--PLEASE take pictures to post here!! I've wanted to go for the past 9 years and there is always SOMETHING that prevents it (and this year is no different...)

Oh.........it's a flower.
I thought it might be a gathering of wolves or something.
Therefore, I'm not going.

I'll probably be heading up there in a couple weeks, and there's no doubt I'll be taking pictures.

I love those lupines. Maine also has some varieties that grow in the wild. I believe one of our C/D members posted some pictures of wild lupines growing in northern Maine.

there are sections of wild flowers planted by the state on the median of route 101 - there are multi-colored phlox, daisies and lots of lupines - it's very pretty right now.

Has anyone been up to the festival yet? I wasn't able to go this weekend but I'm afraid that the blooms will be past peak next weekend...

I did not make it to the festival but I was in Lincoln this weekend and got to see some pretty Lupines along Rt 93. They really are beautiful!

I loooooove lupine! I fell in love with them in Nova Scotia 10 years ago. I actually have some seeds i bought years ago and I just found them cleaning out for the move to NH...I am sure they are duds now butt I am going to plant them anyway and hope for the best! I had forgotten all about lupine until I saw them again in NH in May!
