Don't go with any of the ones at Home Depot or Lowes or any of those.

Bad ratings.

Check out a fireplace store. I can't picture HD or lowes sending anyone out to work on one if it fails on you.

Joker4u2 is on a distinguished road
I'm thinking of buying a pellet stove as well. But I'm looking for one with a battery backup in case the power does go out.

I'd posted earlier in this thread that we burn wood -- only wood, no oil, gas or electric heat for us. Yikes...just found out that our wood supplier has NO WOOD! I was talking to one of my officemates whose dad was a logger, and he said there's a wood shortage.

Soooooo......how does that affect you folks with pellet stoves because pellets are made of wood. Also heard from someone who recently bought a pellet stove and can't find pellets. This is getting a little worrisome.

I heard some folks are starting to put in electric heat!!!!

Yup ! I have been getting pellets at Lowes but you have to call every day and go get them as soon as they come in. Last week they sold 17 ton in one day and now they are waiting for another 22 tons to come in.

Evidently its the plastic bags that the pellets come in that are the problem. Pellet makers are having a hard time getting bags. Whats next?

The Blue Seal Feed Store in Derry has pellets for $250/ton. Not sure if that's delivered price or not...
