Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes!
We had an early birthday celebration this past weekend. My in-laws arrived on Friday afternoon - along with a b'day cake my MIL baked and brought with them .... from Poughkeepsie, NY (about a 5-hour drive), but it made it intact!
Friday night, the in-laws wanted to go to the diner for dinner, so off we went, then off to the bluegrass jam (I have pictures from the jam and a couple of videos that you can hear, but not see, that I hope to get uploaded at some point).
We were going to go to the Lupine Festival on Saturday, but they decided it was too hot, so they wanted to go to Wal-Mart  ! I'm not quite sure why Wal-Mart held such appeal, but off we went, then to the liquor store since they came with a list from friends and then on to Chutters, which they loved - we must have been in there for an hour or so....they were like kids in a candy store (can't imagine why <g>).
Saturday night hubby fixed us a prime rib dinner and we just sat around talking afterwards. They left early Sunday morning and we dug up two of the lupines in our garden for them to take back with them and see how they do. I had to work Sunday and hubby fixed me ANOTHER b'day dinner Sunday night (salmon..yummy) and we had more cake
Sooo, even though it's not my b'day yet, we've had our celebration and then some
Hubby has promised a new tinfoil hat (a purple one, no less) by Wednesday and he always plays the song he wrote for me on my b'day and our anniversaries (the day we met, the day we were legally married and the day we had our "ceremonial ceremony" for friends and family in NY), so there will be music tomorrow night.
And Val - Thank you for putting in the order for cooler temps! When the weather gets like this, I'm so happy to be way up here - It's been hot, but when I look at where we were in NY weather-wise, we've still been cooler than there - they broke a record yesterday..old record was 94 in 1959, yesterday they topped out at 97 with extremely high humidity. We're about 67 right now and it's 75 back in NY already (at 6:30 a.m.) so they're going to have another hot and muggy one today!''
Oh! I didn't get to the camera quickly enough, but "Yogi" paid us a visit around 8 p.m. or so last night - went right past my office door, which is in the back of the house and back up into the woods, so I guess even he wanted to wish me a happy b'day! <g>
Again, thank you all for the b'day wishes and nice words - they mean a lot....I knew I liked this forum!
P.S. I repped those I could - for some I'm still not able to rep ya, but will get ya sooner or later!
