Default Want to come back to NE but not taxecticut

I had a thread in vermont forum to check things out. Was considering moving there. Also looking at NH. We are retired from
Ct. living in calif. we do miss NE. I see people talking about the taxes. There are no cheap taxes anywhere, but there are cheaper
taxes. The main gripe in NH appears to be car registration, is that correct? I have a 2000 for ranger PU, was wondering what that would cost to register there. Any way we are looking for a small town, Maybe 2000 or so. Just looking for opinions-Thanx for any info

I tried calling to see what it would cost for me to register my car in NH and they said they don't give that info over the phone and that i had to come into the office. Well that's fine but considering i'm in FL right now, that's a bit tough to do. I just wanted to know how much to expect when i went in the office so i can be prepared for the "shock".

I just registered a 1999 Ford Ranger and it was $43 to the state and $49.to the town.....less than $100 total. It did not change from 2004 to present and it will not change.

Your's should be comparable to that total.

My toyota was over $500 to register it when purchased new in 2004. It's heavy because it's convertible. This year it was $43. to state and $165. to the town. Not as painful as 2004. It shouldn't change anymore.
