Default Interesting how...

Interesting reading some of the threads talking about "lazy white kids." I seemed to notice that there wasn't much anger or outrage over the illegals making demands and spitting/tearing up the American flag. Then some posts about how all the illegals want is to work; yeah, well then they need to come in LEGALLY, LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH AND DEMAND NOTHING, BUT WORK FOR IT!

Maybe because people realize that flag burning is protected by free speech and is a classic example of the flexibility of the Constitution

However, going back to my previous point. Most Mexican Illegals that are here want to work and in many instances will do the jobs our spoiled kids will not do. I have first hand experience with that trying to get my neighbors kids to help me out with some yard work. I even offered them $15.00 an hour. But no, it appears this is now beneath many kids and middle class families today!

If our Lawmakers were serious about making fair and practical immigration policy the first thing they could do is bill the Mexican Government for all the Health Care we spend on their citizens and use that as leverage for more oil! Also we need to come down hard on USA Employers who hire and exploit these illegal Mexican Workers.

Finally we need to make the Post Office off limits to any illegal wanting a Postal Money Order. That will clean things up real fast!

I know plenty of kids in NJ who want to work but cannot get jobs due to illegals. I have read numerous articles in the newspapers about kids in Arizona, who cannot get work at McDonald'a because of illegals. As a matter of fact, the day after a big raid in the Arizona, Nevada area-there were Americans lining up for these jobs and "lazy" kids too!

With all due respect, just because your neighbor's kids are spoiled that does not mean all the kids are. There are plenty of American kids in my area who work at a lot of different jobs and are polite and kind. There are also plenty of Americans willing to do the so called "jobs that Americans refuse to do" regardless of what the MSM may say.

I am not afraid of change by the way. An invasion by illegal lawbreakers and a North American Union is not "change". It is loss of American sovereignty!

As I responded to the original poster, people that haven't had to live through an illegal invasion don't really understand what is going on. They haven't had towns ruined, hospitals close, their safety compromised all for illegal lawbreakers who should not be here. I only hope America wakes up before it is too late and we are totally overrun and part of the NAU.

I am clearly in a tiny minority here as, although I am a native-born US citizen and agree that for our own security and financial independence we need to know and regulate who is in our country, I feel no animosity whatsoever towards illegals. I live in CA and have lived in NY and Chicago and have consistently seen illegal immigrants working hard and yes, doing jobs that native-born citizens aren't willing to do. $15/hour might be great pay in rural NH, but in most of CA there's a ton of economic opportunity and people who are fluent in English simply have too many options to be willing to clean houses, mow lawns, etc. There's an entitlement mentality here among citizens, not illegal immigrants.

There was a research project a few years ago where farmers in various parts of the US actively tried to recruit legal labor at above-minimum wage to do the brutal kind of work typically done by illegals - picking lettuce, etc. No one wanted the jobs and the few who did quit after a day. It isn't a perfect system, but the reality is that our economy is reliant on illegal labor - certainly in CA houses the construction & restaurant industries would shut down without illegal labor, and on an individual level life would be a lot less comfortable for many people. (People might have to take care of their own kids, mow their own lawns, etc.) Lest you think that life would get better for working-class Americans, remember that housecleaning might start paying more, but housing, food, etc would also get that much more expensive.

To the OP, did you actually SEE illegal immigrants spitting on the flag, etc? Or was this something you just heard about? If you say you saw it yourself and explain the context I'll certainly believe you, but otherwise this sounds like urban legend to me. People don't leave their homes and their families and take the risks illegal immigrants take to get here because they hate America. They come here because they're willing to risk everything for a chance at a better life. You can argue that our country doesn't have the resources to provide that chance to everyone, or that you don't want people from a particular culture to have it, but it's tough to argue that people make those sacrifices because they DON'T want to to be here.

I think many people are talking about a few different things - illegal immigration is separate from assimilation. There are plenty of legal immigrants from countries all over the world who may be making less effort to assimilate than previous generations of immigrants did. I think this is a trend, as people are trying to hang onto the cultures from their home countries more than in previous waves of immigration. And there are plenty of illegal immigrants who speak fluent English. There are unnaturalized citizens serving in the Armed Forces in Iraq.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like anyone on this board is going to agree with me, but that's what I see. And whether our ancestors came over 300 years ago or three weeks ago, we are all descended from immigrants. Mine got lucky and came over during times when anyone could immigrate, but if they faced the same kind of poverty people are currently facing in much of the world, who knows?

I was furious about them doing it to the flag and all and can't believe the government wasn't there to arrest and deport every last one of them.

Wow! 3 college degrees? What would they be in? You should be earning 6+ figures with that kind of education.

But yes, getting kids to work today is not easy. I was thinking of making T Shirts that my Mexican Friends could see. They would say, "Not a Lazy Spoiled Kid" But then again that would not be very PC???

if this was the reasoning, then we should all be speaking American Indian languages.

I would expect better from NH. Hello....we are all Americans. We need to respect and tolerate all cultures and languages. We are the melting pot.

I have no problem with people speaking foreign languages. People naturally learn a new language within months of living in a new country. All of us are "foreigners", because this country is very young. Even if your ancestors were amongst the pilgrims, they were not here first.
I was completely and utterly taking the ****. I'm sorry that this escaped you.

Sad to say, it is a reality as our labor force and entitlement mentality have resulted in our country out sourcing everything from manual labor, our energy needs to even have others care for our aging parents. You go into any Wal Mart, Home Depot or Costco and virtually every tool or product is made either in China or Mexico. We no longer make anything in this country. And it is scary when you see GM and Ford coming to the conclusion that it is more profitable and more cost effective to open up their auto plants in Mexico or China. So should it be lazy white kids or just plain stupid kids?

If USA Americans are unhappy with illegals trashing our flag and changing our whole culture then we are going to have to get to work and Much More Involved in the Political Process than we are now. But if we sit back and just sit on our rocker chewen & spitten Skoal then we will be doomed to mediocrity.

It was at montebello High school in Ca where I live. It was in the newspapers a day or two after the protests. Along with pictures & story. This should have been on every front page in the country. I talked to a police officer who i knew, who was there.
