Valerie, I used to sell a lot on eBay and I do have an Etsy account, but I haven't found time in the last 2-3 years to really concentrate on sewing. Now I have to pack everything up for our move in the fall. I have 100s of yards of fabric in my family room cabinets & storage, just waiting for me to make something.

Boy, NhRocky- does that sound familiar! Actually I have to limit mine since I only have 2 shelf units I can use - and the potential of having to pack it all up if I lose my office is very scary. But don't you know that she who dies with the most fabric wins???

Right now I'm resisting going on a spending spree buying a yard of all sorts of interesting spandexes and rhinestone trims! (but they might be useful!!! )

I DID make a dandy "draft tube" that I filled with rice to stop the drafts from coming under the door in winter LOL, does that count??

FR, your wife is very talented--does she roll out the clay and shape into the animals?? Somewhere I have a duck that I made from some dough. No, really... we were out at a Mexican food restaurant in Missouri, and they gave us each a little dough ball to amuse ourselves while we were waiting (they had probably fallen on the floor so couldn't use them for making tortillas). Anyway, I (who has no artistic ability) made a duck that I thought came out pretty cute, and I still have it somewhere. If I can find it, I'll snap a picture of it.

yeah, val. she makes them all from blocks of clay. she has every thing to shape clay you could imagine. i'll take some other pic's of clay things she has made.

and NASCAR. We have tickets which we renew every year at NHIS.

I love nascar too. We are going to NHIS for this Sept race. My husband and I try to visit a different race track every year. Last year we went to Dover and I took my mother along as a treat. I'm driving to PA to bring her up for the race in Sept too.

Everyone is so talented!!!

I like to do counted cross stitch to relax in the evening. If I were to stitch every pattern I've collected, I would have to live to 300+ yrs old.

I also enjoy sewing. I made the flower girls dresses, ring bearers outfits and bridesmade's gowns for my sister's wedding many years ago. I want to get into quilting. We have a beautiful summer kitchen on our property that has a fireplace in it. We are going to fix it up to become my sewing room!!! I am so excited about that.

I have also dabbled in many other crafts. The only thing I've never been able to learn is knitting and crocheting. Everything turns out to be a triangle.

According to my grandmother's info, I've got an ancestor who was one of the representatives that signed the VT constitution and voted on the name (so much better than New Connecticut!), another who founded the town of Stamford, CT - his son?grandson? who wrote the letter of paper asking landowners to kick out Peter Styvensant from New Amsterdam, John Alden & Priscilla Mullens, and some Huguenots who escaped by dressing as French peasants. gee, a bunch of dissidents and rabble-rousers if you ask me We can get some of the lines back to the 1600s, but the VT line we can't get out of the country

My Dad once tried to trace his ancestors. He got as far as Ireland where his forefather was arrested for stealing horses and told he had a choice, be hanged or go to America.... He stopped looking any further. Guess history taught the rest of us, unknowingly that is, because I don't know of any other horse thieves in our family since then.

I have heard of the Mummers - and seen pics, although I've never been in Philly for the parade.

Me too!!! When I lived in Philly when I was in college, I used to be able to sit at my bathroom window and watch the parade. Pretty cool, and I was nice and warm. Unfortunately, I haven't lived anywhere they broadcast the parade since I moved out of PA.
